PC Keyboard?

Hi folks,

I'm just wondering if there is a way to connect a PC keyboard to a Javelin. I think that a PC Keyboard is like a Serial device, so if I implement an UART, I should be able, but has anyone already tried that?

Thanks,

Jean-Marc

Jean-Marc…PC Keyboards are Synchronous serial, not Asynchronous, which would use a UART. There are CLK and DATA lines and the communication is bi-directional. There are many references on the web for PC Keyboard Protocol and pin out. Try a Google search. Take care.

Hi found that on the Forum : http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=25&p=1&m=243918

So I ordered it last week and received it this morning. I got some trouble to make it works, but after about 1h, I was able to receive data on the Javelin.

I wrote a class to handle it, and will post this class on the forum soon, in case someone what to buy a similar keyboard. So it's now working very well.

It costs me only $3, but $18 for the shipping.

I know that it's not exactly a PC keyboard, but it's sheaper, but also way smaller, so that's perfect.

If you have any question regarding the keyboard, please ask me.
