Contrast on Oled-Prop-96

Anybody else noticed that the default contrast setting for the Oled-Prop-96 doesn't reproduce color very well?

It seems the default driver sets all contrast settings to maximum.· I guess this is to give the brightest color.

But, this doesn't make for very good pictures.· Also, I think it uses more battery and wears out the screen faster.· Also, I think saturated areas cause some unwanted screen artifacts.

Anyway, turning the master contrast down to the 5-7 range from the default, 15, gives a better match to my Windows PC colors.· But, my particular screen seems like it could use a bit more red, so I might have to tweak the individual colors.

Still, maybe not all the screens are the same...· I'm interested in anybody else's observations...

on battery use, I think yes. The manual points out that a white screen runs through batteries faster. White is essentially all color bits set to max values, so it follows that a brighter display does so as well.
