Well....the results of the WIZnet design contest are in at Circuit Cellar.· Check them out here: http://www.circuitcellar.com/wiznet/

I signed up for a module and had the intent of making an entry or two, but time got away from me (isn't that always the case?).· Several ideas I was kicking around were implmented by others.··My ideas included a controller/datalogger for watering, temp, humidity sensing system for hybroponics, an ethernet to·DMX512A system (I was really surprised to see someone do this as an entry), and a·ethernet enabled picture frame (was REALLY suprised to also see this).· There is a wealth of information in the abstracts and entry material.· It is neat to see how the projects were implemented and compare it to my design sketches.·

Sadly, no Parallax micros in any of the winners.· I was going to use the Propeller, but again time got away from me.· Seeing these projects makes me want to finish a couple of the ideas I had.

Wiznet will be at ESC next week. We have scheduled a meeting back at Parallax the day after to discuss some ideas. So even though none of the winners were Propeller based, they do know who we are and they find the Propeller interesting.

I visited WIZnet at a show in Shenzhen, China. I talked with them about the ideas I have had to use their products along with a Propeller. I am eager to design and build but my time is limited. I like their products and the ease of use (from what I can tell with my experimentation. The W5300 IC demonstrates that they listen to their customers by the improvements shown in the product.
