SX "Vpp generation failed"
I am brand new to the SX key, but have been using the BS2 chip for a while. I bought an SX-Blitz, Tech board, a couple oscillators, and a few SX28s.
The first couple times I tried programming the chip is seemed to work, but I wasn't able to get it do do anything like I want. Now when I try to program the chip it gives me "Vpp generation failed". I double checked that there is no bent pins on the chip, and the chip is in the right direction; the incoming (into the board...then there is a regulator) voltage is 8.05V from a regulated power supply which can provide up to 10 amps.
Does the type of USB cord connected to the Blitz affect how it works. I have a relatively standard USB to USB-mini cable. But I have noticed that one of the orange components on the Blitz looks blackened, wondering if it normally looks like that.
I am using the software SX-Key v. 3.2.3 on Windows Vista.

Comments
- Additional load on the OSC1 pin caused by external components connected, e.g. an external clock generator
- Supply voltage too low (should be 5 Volt for the SX-Blitz) and/or not stabilized
- Defective SX device with a short on the OSC1 pin
- Defective SX-Key/SX-Blitz
