Hello all.· I must start by saying, I'm new to the Basic Stamp chip.· I am planning to use it for my school project and just wanted to see if any of you out there have any suggestions, advice, or maybe even code that you have used for something similar.
I am setting up a motion sensor and a home security camera.· I have my camera video line going to a WinTV-PVR-150 computer card, which will record the video on my computer.· This computer card has a remote control.· My plan is to hook the motion sensor into the Basic Stamp and when it senses motion, have it send an infared signal to the WinTV card that is identicle to the signal that the remote would send, telling the card to begin the recording session.· Has anybody experimented with Infared signals with the basic stamp?· I have measured the output of the Record button on the remote control, it is a binary number whose Logic "1" is equal to approximately 1Vpp with a 1V +Offset (esentially 2V) and the pulse lasts for .9ms.·
So what do you guys say?· Do-able?

Sending the IR signal may be the difficult part. If you plan on doing it in this manner perhaps you should get a spare remote and hack the keypad to the BASIC Stamp can simply press the key for you.
