"Identify Hardware" on propeller proto board does not work

I am·having dificulty·geting started with a propeller proto board. I am not using the "Prop Plug", instead I am using a "BrainStem" Serial to TTL from Acroname ·· http://www.acroname.com/robotics/parts/S13-SERIAL-INT-CONN.html·· It is a Serial to TTL converter which functions at 3.3V also. If I try the "Identify Hardware" from the Propeller Tool, it does not detect the proto board.

Is there a specific serial port speed required. I have tried swaping the Rx Tx lines just to make sure. I also·confirmed that the Reset line on the proto board connector is High (3.3v)

Please advice where I could be messing up.

Thanks

Reset line needs to be connected to DTR to work. I had to do this to use the Sparkfun version of the adapter you are using.

I don't think your "BrainStem" will work because it doesn't provide the DTR line... This is what Parallax uses to signal the Prop to Reset and be ready for programming...
