Estimating Coil Impedances

Hi,
I need to make a small air choke using magnet wires.
My coil size needs to be around 1cm diameter.
For 50Hz AC, how many turns would I need to get around 300 ohm impedance?
If I use a metal / ferrite core, how many turns would I need?
Thanks a million.

Seriously, look at a power transformer for 50/60 hz and notice the size required. Look at air core coils in speaker crossovers. Not going to happen. There are inductance/coil/transformer calulators on the web.

To determine impedance, you are also going to need to know capacitance.· The wire itself is going to·have some resistance value determined by the type of wire (copper, aluminum, etc.) that will contribute to the RLC formula.· The only know variables are your frequency, size of the coil, and maybe the type of wire used.· Magnet wire is most often copper, but can be·just about anything.
