I would like to know how to turn on a simple light bulb.

I have completed first book ' What Are MicroControllers and· part of Smart Sensors. Just received Applied Sensors.
I'm pretty good at programming - weak on electronics - but know the simple basics.
I have already built a few projects but now desire to control higher voltage - higher wattage fixtures.
I have run into a road block on this.
I would like to know how to turn on a simple light bulb.· If I can do this, I can figure out the rest.
What transistors and relay and external power supply would I need? The Darlington Arrays I purchased were not well documented.
Thanks, Dan Michael

Download the .pdf file. There is info on controlling real world circuits. (can you spell MOSFET?) (;>)
