SX-Key USB

How do I need to use the SX-Key USB with the software since it only allows setting up via a comport? I read through the manual but nothing is listed for the usb key. I also checked the website for it and checked the pdf and it is the same. I actually had this as a spare and sent it to a friend.

Are you talking about the SX-Blitz USB ? I don't think Parallax is selling the USB SX-Key yet.

I haven't seen the USB version of the SX-Key yet but the SX-Blitz appears as a COM port on your system whenever you plug it in. This is pretty common with several USB (and Bluetooth) devices. Whether the COM port is a real serial port or a USB based one usually doesn't make any difference to the program running on the PC side since they are both presented as a COM port to the application.

It probably is if that is the only one for usb. So the difference is just not going to be able to do in circuit debbuging correct?

I just thought it may need a driver from FTDI for virtual comport!

Yes the Blitz cannot debug and also doesn't have the clock generator either.
The USB-Blitz uses the FTDI chip so it appears to the system as a COM port.
