Well since most if not all the motors found in cars are of the 12 volt type you might be able to find some at the local wrecking yard that might work. I found some fan motors (I think they were for the heater but maybe a radiator type will work too) ·at my local electronics surplus store. Windows , seats also use motors.
I am far from the expert here... but you need to watch the current rating. Not just what it uses, but stall current. Most windshield wiper motors, seat motors, etc. are very inefficient, hence draw a lot of current for the power you get from them. That's just my two cents worth.

LOL that's probably why Parallax uses them in their 12V Modular Wheel and Motor Mount . Denso which makes motor assemblies for the automotive industry is the product that is being used (unless parallax has altered their original design from the first page of that thread) for that Modular wheel.
