Darlington Arrays

Hello All,

I need some help in finding a Octal Darlington Array that is inverting on the inputs. I am dealing with current sink outputs and I want to stay current sink, but if I use a 2803 octal Darlington Array I need my outputs from my circuit to be current source. I am trying not to have to use a inverter before the ULN2803. If I have to use a inverter and the ULN2830 does anyone know of a octal inverter?

Any Suggestions?

Thanks,
Kevin

The ULN2803 requires no more than a 1.35mA drive current. Is your driving circuitry unable to source that much? BTW, the 74HC9114 has nine inverters with Schmitt trigger inputs in a 20-pin pckage.

There is a mate to the ULN2803 Cathode Driver - one can be used to sink and the other to source. It is the UDN2981a Anode Driver.

Of course, I've had zero luck at buying any locally. If you can get some, I'd be interested in adding to your order.

Phil, I need to drive some leds but unfortunately the pwm chips are current sink and won't drive the current I need.

Kramer, I was wondering what is prefered, stay with current sink and use 2 chips a inverter and ULN2803 or go with the UDN2981? I know I can current sink more than current source in theory but if I go with current source(UDN2981) it is less circuit wiring. I am making a driver circuit for 60 outputs.

Thanks guys let me see what I can find.
