I am trying to locate a heat sink to use with the LM2940CT VR used by Parallax.· Any suggestions as where to look?· I have checked out Digikey but failed to locate one.

Jim.

The LM2940CT comes in a TO-220 package. Heat sinks are readily available for this. RadioShack sells several different kinds for example.

Radio Shack sells a heat sink that fits the TO-220 (276-1363)·case for $1.49. Just bought one for a Basic Stamp OEM that was running a little warm.

Thanks MIke and MSDTech. I checked out the two Radio Shacks close to me and they had zip. I am now headed to Electronics Suppy in KCMO. Maybe they have some. I will also check out some other locations.

    Thanks again.

    Jim.

Thanks Starman, I checked out the link and that heat sink, like the Radio Shack, takes up too much real estate on my board. At 1"x1.18' it uses a lot of my 2.5"x3.75" board'. I think I'll look in the Z axis and see if I can find a vertical.

    Thanks.

Found one. I had misread the dimensions on one that Digikey has.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
