Sorry for what may be such an obvious thing to an experinced user but I haven't been able to definately determine if a Basic2e stamp can be studied on a Basic2-IC BOE USB project board. I do have serial ports but I bought a USB kit because I knew absolutely nothing about PIC when I bought it. I know not much more at this point but trying. Since buying this set up I have found many other types of boards and code and worried about becomming distracted too much. I think I understood the Basic2e requires at least a serial connection (6 connections). Any chance the Basic2e can be utilized on the BOE?
Thanks,
Jim

This is the kit I bought:

Any of the Basic Stamp 2 modules can be used on the BOE including the BS2e. The kit you bought looks like it includes a BS2 module as well. From a hardware standpoint, the modules are interchangable. From a software standpoint, the different modules require slightly different timing constants and some statements are only supported on certain models. The manual gives details and there are conditional compilation directives that help with the different constants. Again, the manual discusses this.
