HELP Servo or Stepping Motor?

······· Any help would really be appreciated. I have a RC 4 wheel truck that no longer has a working controller so I thought this would be a great use for a BS2 project. I thought this would be a simple project since the RC truck only had a single drive motor and a motor for steering, however when I got inside I found the steering motor to be one I have never worked with. There are no markings on the motor so I can not get any information using that. I attached several images of the motor in hopes someone might be able to tell me something about it. In addition there are a total of 6 wires coming from the motor. Also, when the truck was working the steering could be adjusted using a dial on the side. Thanks in advance.

It's probably a stepper motor with the 6 leads. Use an Ohmmeter to measure the resistance between each pair of leads. You may find that there are two independent windings which are center tapped. Google "wiki stepper motor" for a description.

Measuring the resistance between wire pairs would be a big help. Also knowing what each wire is connected to in the truck would give you some clues.
