We were just·having trouble connecting to·a BPI-216 LCD module and figured the trouble was that it needed 5V logic levels...
Just happened to have this new chip:· 74OL6000

It's a 6-pin DIP that buffers and optically isolates one signal line...
We're just using it at 9600 baud, but datasheet says it does 10MBPS...

Looks nice, but it appears to be made of unobtainium at the moment. Not stocked at Mouser and DigiKey. Long lead times and large minimum quantities. -Chuck-
