Quick format for SD card?

One·thing missing from Rockiki's excellent SD card FAT driver is a format command...· I looked around and couldn't find any SPIN code for that...

I thinking that I can just·save Block #0 from a freshly formatted card somewhere.· Then, if I want to format, just copy this data back into block #0.

Any chance this would work?

    I did a SD card FAT driver once for another processor and the format command required not just block 0 (the partition info) but also the inital fat table and the blank directory table (zeros). It's not really complicated but it's more of a matter of calculating the number of sectors/partition, setting up some dummy info, serial# etc.

    When I get a "round tuit" I will release my own Spin version.
