eyeWyre Simulation Studio
A few years ago a useful robotics simulation program, Simulation Studio, was available from eyeWyre Corporation, Shelby Township, MI, USA.
A demo of this software was downloadable; it had a copyright of 2003. It was an excellent simulation of the BOE-Bot. To obtain the fully functional version a CD-ROM·could be purchased. However, the manufacturer, eyeWyre Corporation, has been uncontactable for the past few years.
I and others, who have contacted me since my original post on this subject, are keen to contact eyeWyre's members to see if this extremely versatile piece of software can be obtained in a fully functional version.
Does anyone have any information about the fate of eyeWyre and this software? If it is no longer supported, is it out of copyright and could be made 'public domain'?

Involvement and committment can be best understood by looking at a plate of ham and eggs. The chicken was involved, but the pig was committed. ANON

Simulation Studio was released in 2003 and was actively developed until late 2005. While interest in the product was steady and sales were ok, neither were great enough at the time to warrant further development or investment. As such, we stopped selling the product and began licensing 'pieces' of the simulator.
This is obviously subjective, but we always felt we were ahead of our time. Even to this day, I have not seen a simulation product that equalled Studio's capabilities. This doesn't mean that Studio was not without issue. It lacked certain features necessary to really gain traction. Specifically, end user modeling of robots and interact-able elements and worlds.
While we retain ownership of the rights to the product, we have no plans to rerelease the product for sale. I will consider making the full system available for free to those that express an interest. Understand that should I do that, a) I do it without providing any support and b) am not even sure if and how well it will run on current versions of Windows and hardware.
If after you understand a) and b), you are still interested in obtaining the software, drop me an email at mattc@eyewyre.com

Matt
