Where can I find gears for stepper motor? 3mm shaft

Hello,

Where can I find a good source of gears to fir the Parallax Stepper motor? The documentation says it has a 3 mm shaft.

I want to make a computer controlled "analog" clock and am thinking of gearing down the output to count seconds.

Thanks

    wabbit,

Do you have one of those motors in hand? The reason I ask is that the photo on the product page shows it with a gear already attached, although neither the product description nor the spec sheet mentions it.

no I dont have one yet. I am going to order one this weekend, but I want to get some gears at the same time. I want to use it to make a clock that just shows hours for now so I need to reduce the gearing to make it turn in 6 degree increments (minutes)

Correct me if I am wrong (this is my first time calculating gear ratios) If the stepper motor turns in 7.5 degree increments then I need to set up a 1.25: 1 gear ration to make the out put turn in 6 degree increments.

We carry the Stepper Motor for educational purposes to demonstrate control using our Microcontroller. To that end this Stepper Motor is included in the Stamp Works kit. However, the motor make/model is subject to change and we don’t necessarily have detailed specifications for the ones we have. My advice would be to buy a stepper motor based on the specifications you need for your application, such as voltage, current, torque, degrees/step, etc.
