LCD Crisis

Hi,

I'm working on a project with a 2 x 16 serial lcd from parallax.· The lcd was working just fine and now all it displays is the top row filled in dark and the bottom row empty.· This is even in the test mode.· Does anyone know of any suggestions?· Thank you very much, as I greatly appreciate it.

So, you mean one minute everything was working great and the next minute it wasn't? No program changes, no hardware changes, no lightning?

Is the power supply ok? Check with a voltmeter. Any breaks in the serial link? Have you accidently REM'd out a line of your program?

More details are always better than less details.

If your using a solderless breadboard this can happen if one of the wires pops out.

A wire can also break inside the breadboard's socket and not even appear to be out
of the board cause the insulation is still held in the board (I had this problem).

In other words... double check every inch of wiring. If in doubt, yank all the wires
out and start from scratch.
