Parallax Servo Controller and Relays

I have a question about using the parallax servo controller to control a relay. I saw on this site http://www.bpesolutions.com/gadgets.ws/gproject3.html that the SV203 servo controller can be used to control a relay from the servo connector. Can anyone tell me if the same think would be possible with the parallax controller and the same circuit? The illustration is half way down the page. I have 8 unused ports on my Parallax controller and also need to control some relays. It would be great to be able to do this.

Thanks!!

From the drawing it looks like if it will work for them it would work for you. You would need some way to keep the relay from dropping out in the dead (pause) time though.

That was my thought also. I figured the relay would flap. I figured that a capacitor would help, but I am not sure where to place it or what value would be best. I might have to wire up a prototype and do some trial and error, but I do not want to do any damage to the controller.
