Regardless of who works on this proposed project, the first step may be to check the type and specifications of the motor you're using, if the motor requires a motor controller (not clear above). The easiest way to do this is to check for a metal plate attached to the motor somewhere which lists a number of important pieces of information, often as follows:

    1. Manufacturer's Name

    2. Type of Motor

    3. Voltage / Amperage / Phases / Frequency

    4. Wiring Diagram

This will be a good head start for anyone who might be enlisted to assist you. I'm sure there will be other items of importance regarding the motor as well.

If this is actually a robot, you may want to ask if this post can be moved to the Robot area, another section of these Parallax Forums.

    Regards,

    Bruce Bates

    robofish,

In addition to all of Bruce's points, do you want/need wired remote or wireless remote? What is the model number of the ametex controller?

    Regards,

    Terry
