Hello again... I am building my invertor project and would like to know which if any opto would any one recomend to drive a bank of mosfets for my inverter project. Right now I am using a Microchip MCP1407 and driving a bank of mosfets.. I am using a freq range of 50 to 60 Hz and may also need to go into 400 Hz for Military applications. Any ideas or direction anyone can point me in would be great.. I want to isolate my SX48 as best I can for the final design.. Thanks again...idea.gif

Try a 4n35. 400Hz is not very fast. The shut off time is rated at 2microseconds. While this is a photo transistor and not a opto mosfet, it is quite commonly used.

Is there a real need for an 'opto mosfet' in this case?

If you really need a photo FET optocoupler, try an H11F1M, but they respond at 25 microseconds, 10 times slower.· I find them quite interesting for having digital control DC of audio A/C output.· They really open up a lot of new applications for a BasicStamp project.· They can also be used as a variable resistor and I suspect you can drive them with PWM to control the resisitance.
