Surely we can do better! 3 chips?!

Who's got a Prop, 2 servos, and an Etch-a-sketch laying around? smile.gif

Cheers,

Would a CR servo or a stepper motor be better for this?

My pleasure. I've had all the parts I've needed to make something like this in my lifetime, but unfortunately not all at the same time ;) Good luck Philldapill! Keep us posted!

3 chips: one processor and two stepper drivers, you at least need amps.

What about an electronic etch a sketch with tv or vga output and two rotary encoders, mabye a pot to change the color? You could even have the cursor auto reflect when it hit any boundry.

how about connecting this to a bot, instead of a mouse, use encoders and have it draw where it path as it travels? sort of a mechanical LCD screen.
