External On/Off and Reset for the Protoboard?

···· I finally got my protoboard working and put it into a radioshack project box (having fun with the demos, etc.), but I don't want to keep having to open the box to turn on or reset the propeller. I bought a switch and a reset button, but I noticed that the protoboard doesn't have anywhere I can connect the reset button, and uses a switch with a lot contacts than my switch has. I was thinking of connecting my switch before it gets to the switch on the board, and soldering to the tiny reset switch. I just wanted to know if there was a better way to do this. Thanks.

Have a look into OldBitCollector's Protoboard Cookbook - He started with that issue, I remember smile.gif

Thanks, I forgot about that. So that's the reset switch taken care of, but I still need to get a power switch. I was thinking of cutting the ground of the plug for the adapter and putting the switch in between. Does that sound like it would be a good idea or is there another connection elsewhere?

You can simply let the Onboard-Switch in the Off-state and connect an external Switch in parallel.
Attached is a part of the Protoboard schematics with th parallel switch in red.
If you also need the Servo-Voltage (third position of the on board switch) then make also the green connection.
