Setting page for SD card.

I am trying to make a settings page that reads settings from a file on the SD card. I currently have one that reads a timer value each time the program starts but it is only "12453,". I have only been working on this today.
There are many steps to this project and I was thinking we could pool our resources. Please PM me if you would be interested in working together. The forum is such a negative·experience that I am only posting rarely. Since I am going to get a headache I figure do alot of posts when I build up questions.
