big trobule of Emic Text-To-Speech Mod

I have a big problem on the Emic Text-To-Speech Mod. When I connected 5V DC to Vcc and ground to ground PIN, after 3 seconds I saw some smoke from the "U3" unit(please·take a look on the attachment image).··What's the problem? Is there any one with the same story?

    Very likely you either connected the wrong voltage to the Vcc / Gnd pins (too high or backwards) or connected +5V / Gnd to the wrong pins. The best thing is to call Parallax technical support.
