Show Code Templates
Greetings,
On page 53 of the BASIC Stamp Syntax and Reference Manual (V 2.2) there is a table shown·(Table 3.6 Coding Functions).·Listed there is·a Shortcut Key: (ctrl+J) and Function: Show code templates.
However, I cannot seem to find this command in my editor (PBASIC 2.5). Using ctrl+J does nothing.
Note: I am aware of the Preferences option of loading a predefined template.
Does anyone here any info on the "Show code templates" Function?
Thanks,
Dominic

I read the parts of the manual you have indicated, and although I've never used this feature, here is how I understand it. I'm sure if I'm incorrect, someone from Parallax will make the appropriate corrections.
IF you insert a code template file name in the appropriate space in the Editor Preferences panel, then I would expect that the shortcut (CTL + J) notation would appear. I would expect it to appear within one of the action choices (FILE or EDIT) subordinate commands. The action choices can be found across the top of the PBASIC Editor screen.
If the code template file name is not specified (as it is now, probably set·to blanks) then the shortcut (CTL + J) will just not appear.

However, I have had a template setup in preferences for many months. Whenever I load a new code window, the template shows just how I need it (helps with the tedious task of typing common items).
And still, ctrl+J does nothing. And there is no option presented anywhere within the editor to "Show code templates".
In the scheme of things, this is really a non-issue and I don't plan to pursue this as a major inconvienance. I am a Virgo, and if the Manual says it's there, I like to know that it's there :)
Before making my original post, I did a search in these forums to see if anyone else has come across this obscure Function, and I found nothing.
Hopefully,·someone from Parallax will see this thread and post some sort of help.
Thanks again, Bruce.
