FTDI 232BM DTR-> Propeller RES line

Afternoon all,

(And a sunny one here in the UK!)

Quick question on the FTDI 232BM IC - when it's powered up it pulses the DTR line high - which has the effect of resetting the propeller (via the NPN).

The board is basically wired up the same as the USB2SER and is bus powered too.

Any idea's why, or what could be changed to stop it doing that?

Cheers,

James

The DTR line is normally used to reset the Propeller in order to program it. If you don't want the reset to happen, you have to disconnect that line from the Propeller's reset circuitry, but be able to reconnect it when you want to reprogram it.

    Hi Mike,

I know that - I'd like to keep the ability to re-program the prop though.

    Cheers,

Maybe you can blank out (eliminate) the pulses like i did it with the pwren# line on the FT232RT for my propeller interface with the 3.3V power regulator on board.

    Thanks Joerg

I did wonder about something similar. I'll get the O'scope on it this weekend.

    Cheers

PS: Saluti means somewhat like greetings in Italian and since i live in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland i use
this "formula" even if my mother language is German.

    Auf Wiedersehen!
