Hi there!

I'm working on a wall following robot. I used three ultrasonic sensor - 2 on the left side of the robot and the other in front of the robot. The problem is, when I use 3 ultrasonic sensor, the IC becomes hot. So I'm wondering whether it is really possible to use 3 ultrasonic sensor at the same time? Please someone help me. Thank you.

    Radioactive -

When you say "the IC becomes hot", that covers a lot of territory. Which specific IC is getting hot, and on which PCB.

How do you have the PING's powered?

It's probably a bit late to tell you this now, but Parallax offers a PING rotator, so that you can use one PING to sense in more than one direction. It's a good deal less expensive than having multiple PING's. Here is where it may be found: http://tinyurl.com/26kpgm

By using the PING rotator, you can scan a full 180 degrees from one side to the other. You would also have BOTH sides of your robot fully covered, rather than having 2 on the left, and one one in the front, as you have it now.

Thanks..actually I'm using 2 ultrasonic sensor so that if the robot slips, meaning that it changes direction a little bit (not straight), the sensors will detect this and correct it (so that the robot moves in straight direction). The front sensor is used to detect wall in front so the robot will change direction (and follow the 'new' wall)..
