I'm using a board of education board for a remote control car project.
Have the code working as well as the hardware so now I want to power the stamp from the 5 volt regulator I have for the hardware. From the Palallex site I read that I can power rhe stamp using Vdd if I leave Vin disconnected. Looking at the schematic for the board it looks like I just supply Vdd and leave the power switch in the off position and I'm home free. So I power the stamp thru the app mod header using Vdd and Vss which are available at the header. The power on led lights but no stamp found.
Did I miss something?
I'm thinking now I'll reverse the process and supply +12 to the Board of education and use the +5 from the BOE to power my logic. But now I'm concerned that I don't know how the regulator and the stamp interact. Most of what I've read says the chip Outputs +5 regulated from Vin.·Are the regulator and chip regulator tied together?? Looks like it in the schematic.
To add insult to injury the board wall input says 6 to 9 volts, the schematic says 6 to 30 volts and most of the post I read here say 12 volts (what I have available) is okay. My wall wort (from parallex is 13.6v) I'm sure this is simple, I just don't want to smoke it.
Thanks for the help.
