Propeller Cookbook goes web-based

One of the drawbacks to the .pdf version of the Propeller Cookbook is that it requires everyone to
re-download the entire book each time additions are made, and changes/edits wind up being put
on the shelf until the next release is ready.

You've caught a glimpse of the next direction of the Cookbook with the Cyberhome miniDVD hack
at my new warranyvoid.us site. The Cookbook will take on a web-based form which will overcome
the difficulties mentioned above.

It's new home will be propeller.warrantyvoid.us. I've started with the section on
SD media and will expand to both previously covered topics as well as new items.
The goal of the site is to cover each topic more thoroughly, including links to objects & projects.

The pages will be designed with the idea of being printer/binder friendly.
At the moment it is incomplete, and should be seen as a continuation of the v1.4 release.

Here's a link to the first entry completed tonight.
www.warrantyvoid.us/interfacingsdmedia.html

I'd love comments and suggestions..

Very cool, can't wait for the rest of the sections!

Though, I have to admit, my first "SD interface" followed your schematics, but I'm so cheap that I poked six holes into a piece of PVC, creatively bent some copper wire with needle nose pliers, electrical taped the whole thing together, and jammed it into p0-5. Amazingly, it worked great and I was able to play WAVs off it. (Don't try this at home kids).

I suppose I'll order one of those, mine's slightly janky smile.gif

Great work OBC, keep it up!

UPDATE: whoops, meant 0-3 of course, first two pins being vdd and vss.

    Cheers,

Wow, Oldbitcollector I was planning on doing the same thing just last night.
I might still consider doing it.
As a beginner to micro controllers myself I know how hard it can be to find information and it is nice to have all the information in one place.

Thank you for providing this wonderful resource. smile.gif

Oldbitcollector, would you mind if I used some of the articles from the cookbook in my website.
I am building up a huge collection of simple circuits all the way to having an adc input.
I know that most of your articles are general and therefore are for anyone to grab. However since you are making a collection of them I figured I would ask for your permission anyway.

    Look forward to your response.

    Thank you smile.gif

I don't mind.. Sometimes it helps to have more than one explanation on how to do something.
(Just skip the HydraNet one, as I asked special permission to reproduce that.)
Just throw some links back my direction and I'll do the same.

Suggestion, since you are doing a beginners site as well, why don't you do a
solderless breadboard shot of your projects. It might help those who can't
    read schematics yet.

Nice work so far on your site!
