Wave file player to replace Emic Text to speech unit ...has anybody done this.

The task is to have 20-30 ·or so text messages ( wav.files) stored on a SD card
and via a serial port (RS232 or RS485) play a certain message..via small loudspeaker ..
So we would get a person with a clear voice to record the messages on a PC or so..
and store them on the SD card...
Propeller triggers the right message etc etc ..each message is typically 10-15 words only...


Has anybdoy done this already ?

We have used the Emic Text to speech unit before ..

Anyway anybody wants to share .. ?

PropDOS can play wav files and I believe that you can control it from a terminal.

You could probably get away with the SPIN version for voice.· But, I'm using the assembly version...
