RF transmission of data

I'm planning to purchase two BS2, the RF transceiver package, an 3-axis accelerometer, and a digital temperture sensor. Before I make my final decission on this, I wonder if it is possible for one BS2 board with the temperature sensor to transmit the temp. reading to the other BS2 board or not? If it could, how difficult it is to incorporate the accelerometer with the temp. sensor board to have it horizontal level before doing the next step of sending the temp. reading to the other BS2 board.
My classmate has been showing off his Boebot and claimed that it could do many cool things. I'm interested to purchase what I've mentioned above to explore the capabilities of the BS2 with my classmates. Have any one has tried to do this before? Please let me know if it is possible, and provide me with instruction how to go about achieving what I want to do. Thanks.

I can't speak about the accellerometer part of your project, but I have worked with temperature sensors and RF data communications with BASIC Stamps. It is pretty easy for one stamp to transmit temperature readings to the other. You just need the right code for the parts you plan to use.
