Hello everyone. I got this two chips from work and was wondering if I can use my Parallax programming kit "StampWorks experiment Kit" item code:27297 to program the following chips: 10F206 or 12F675.
Thanks in advance.
I'm clueless ! ! !
I think what you're asking is whether you can program the 10F206 and 12F675 using the StampWorks Kit.
The answer is no. The Stamp can be used to control the programming process for the 10F206 and 12F675,
but you will need some additional circuitry to provide the switched "high voltage" programming voltage and
you'll need to write the necessary program. This means that you'll need to understand the programming
process for these parts. Microchip has lots of information on their In-Circuit Programming. Unless you're
particularly interested in learning how to do this, I suggest you invest in a USB-based programmer for these
processor chips. MicroEngineering Labs is one such vendor (www.melabs.com/), but there are
others.
Thanks Mike...I don't think I'm ready to venture that route but I took your suggestion and this is what I think I need: melabs U2 Programmer in Plastic Case with Accessories - $144.95·
Do you think I can start with something like that above ?

The one that comes with the U2 will handle the 12F675.
I had the 1st generation Melabs USB programmer and was quite satisfied with the unit and their support.
I've also used their PICBASIC PRO compiler.
