BS2 and RFID module

I just got the spiffy new parallax RFID reader via radio shack, and naturally I went home immediately to test it out. I was unable to get the module to read a card and then something caught my eye. On the RFID reader itself pins 15 and 16 on the onboard pic are bridged by some solder, and I was wondering is this bridge intentional? I am sorry if this post is in the wrong place but I was unable to find any mention of this bridge and this seemed like the best place to ask.

The bridges are intentional.· How are you connecting the RFID Reader?· Are you following the documentation located on our website?· Here is a link for the wiring diagram and sample code:

I'm having the same problem with the reader I purchased from Parallax direct several months ago. I'm just getting around to using it now, and it appears that nothing is being sent via the SOUT line. I triple-checked my wiring and even checked with an oscilloscope. Its a v. 1.0 reader purchased in 2007.

Are you bringing the /ENABLE line LOW? What color is the LED during operation?
