    No, it is certainly not waterproof. The matrix consists of two printed film overlays which are not sealed.
    In some keyboards there is no connector, but the controller board is pressed agaist the film by the original construction. You need a little bit more work in that case.

    I am always surprised by all the screws inside and outside Chinese products. There is hardly one with less than 20 screws and sometimes many more....
