A/D Converter

Hi,
I have a Basic Stamp 2 and I am trying to use an Analog to Digital Converter to measure voltage. I am using a MAX189. The datasheet can be found here datasheets.maxim-ic.com/en/ds/MAX187-MAX189.pdf. I would like to know how to set it up and what my code should look like.

Pages 11, 15 and 16 talk about the serial interface and the help file in the editor talk about shiftin and shiftout. That is where you need to start.
