Security camera over UTP cable
Hey guys, totally off topic, but I know there's some good minds on here....
looking to connect a security camera, which normally uses 75ohm coax, to some shielded twisted pair cabling....could figure 100ohm TP.
The run is just less than 500ft. Think I could get away with just connecting the signals? (my bet is that the crosstalk would make for an ugly signal)
There are video baluns from blackbox, but they're $30ea (need 2 per camera).
Any tips?
Cheers

What's the best thing to do in a lightning storm? "take a one iron out the bag and hold it straight up above your head, even God cant hit a one iron!"

Will let ya know how I make out!
Note to others: this isn't just for video....you could use it for just about any quality signal that you want to drive over ethernet or what type of cable.
Cheers
