usb to serial won't work?

Good day,

I bought a usb to serial converter. But when I try to identify device (using BASIC stamp editor), It doesn't display basic stamp.
It even say no at "echo" and at loop "back".

I have check stamp with serial port on a different pc It works fine.

Any ideas?

Not all USB to serial converters will work with a Stamp. Some only implement the transmit data and receive data lines. In order to work with a Stamp, it must at least implement DTR. The FTDI, Parallax, and Keyspan High Speed USB to serial converters all will work with Stamps. Make sure you have the manufacturer's driver installed. The default Windows driver doesn't work properly.
