The resources section of Parallax

has NV articles only up to Apr 2007 and yet Jon Williams is still writing for NV.· Was there a falling out?· (In other words, is it possible to get the latest articles posted :-)

There has been no falling out between Parallax, myself, or Nuts & Volts. As I have been a long-time writer my column was scaled back to every other month -- I'm not the author that this happened to, and to be fair, my column (started by Soctt Edwards) has been around very long time. Now... was I thrilled at the change? No, but that's the way it goes, and the editors have encouraged me to submit off-column articles any time I want (as I did in December).

A quick note to Stephanie Lindsey would probably get the new articles posted; I think the web site overhaul had something to do with the delay, nothing else.

I was wondering the same thing, because of the above statements, and I've also noticed a lot more articles concerning the Pic series of chips.· I think Parallax and N&V make a great team and hope it doesn't go away.

I can also see this from N&V's point of view. If the readership perceives a too-cozy relationship with one of its advertisers, the magazine's editorial independence can appear compromised. Although it's a foregone conclusion among those who know Parallax and its staff that no undue or improper influence would ever be wielded, the appearance of impartiality is important to a magazine that serves many sectors.

I'm just grateful to see Jon's excellent columns and articles whenever they appear. The fact that they may be less frequent only adds relish to the anticipation. Having been responsible for a magazine column myself (many years ago), I can well imagine that the less-frequent deadlines are a source of some relief for him, despite his expressed disappointment!
