NES Controllers / Four Score

I recently purchased a NES Four Score that would allow me to interface classic NES controllers with the Propeller. I had originally intended to rip the connector off, but after receiving the part I realized that it would probably be easier to just open up the end of the cable and bring out the wires into the breadboard. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to make it work with the HYDRA NES drivers.
Is it possible that the Four Score is changing the signals somehow so that the HYDRA drivers no longer work? Has anyone else successfully interfaced a Four Score with the Propeller?
