Compass Sensor Issues!

Compass sensor plugged in, and "supposedly" calibrated properly. At first it seemed to work properly but then (no matter where, different rooms, hundred - 2 hundred feet apart, up and downstairs), when it faced East, it would jump randomly, despite the other directions working. However, it did seem to work properly in the spot we calibrated it. So we decided to calibrate it somewhere else. Now it's simply not moving more than about 5 degrees +/- of 60.

Any ideas?

    Drohn -

It sounds like it might be mounted too close to something magnetic. Is it mounted near one of the drive motors (servos)? If so, you'll need to move it UP or otherwise out of the way.

I actually finally just used my compass module....it doesn't work at all when plugged in to the BOE board. Well, it WORKS, but certainly doesn't change when I rotate it, as the heatsink is half an inch away. MAke sure you have it socketed and on the end of some wire (sheilded at the stamp end).

    Cheers
