Two BS Development boards sharing same supply
Hi all,
I am trying to make to bs2's to work together.· Currently they are connected like this: vdd of one board to vdd of the other board, vss of one board to vss of the other board, Pin 8 of one board to Pin 8 of the other board and one of the boards has power supplied to it.· All connections are done with just wires.
I am trying to make pin 8 high on one of the boards and need the other board to recognise this as 5 Volts, I thought that it would recognise it as 5 V but when I used a Voltmeter to measure the voltage beteween pin 8 and Vss it turns out to be 0.6 Volts.
Any ideas What im doing wrong? Or any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

One quick recommendation.... use a current limiting resistor of 1K or so between the two stamp pins just in case you accidentally make them both outputs and their HIGH/LOW states do not agree with one another.
How are you making the pin HIGH?
HIGH 8
What are you doing on the "other" stamp, and is it connected during this test?

You have three options each on the two devices - High, Low, and High Impedance. Also, one device has to clearly be the Sender of Highs and Lows while the other is the Receiver in a High Impedance state. Both have to be in a programed loop to monitor the pin and then report sucess or failure. Things don't automatically get sent or received without a loop set up to do so.

Thanks for the help.
Just one more question.· How do i put a pin into High impedance mode?
Making it an INPUT will do that.

If on one stamp I have INPUT 8 and on the other stamp I have HIGH 8 and pin 8 on the first stamp is connected to pin 8 on the other stamp, then will the first stamp with INPUT 8 recognise the high from the second stamp?
