Request: Application Exchange

Maybe this hasn't happened because the Propeller is still so new, but...

We have a very nice, well organized collection of "objects" for the Propeller. (obex)
It would be nice to have an "application" exchange. There are now enough objects
to see applications of all types come to life.

Examples of objects: AiGeneric, hss, tv_text
Examples of applications: Femtobasic, Manic Miner, PropDOS

Perhaps this isn't something that Parallax would be interested in because the
Propeller is so open-ended, but maybe a page for the Wiki? Comments?

I've thought about this same thing. And wondering about the feasibility of A BBS-like system for the Propeller. Something that you could connect though the internet with a PropNIC or similar interface and download binaries directly to an SD card without even using a PC.

Maybe you could make that part of, or an extension of, PropDOS?

One of the projects I'm working on is a BBS system for the prop..· Version 2 actually, I have one
that I wrote and let run for a few days that worked through the serial connection to a PC.

The terminal application is nearly finished, and I've got to start working on re-vamping the BBS code.

So many good projects...· So little time...··· If some prop'er's could win the lottery perhaps we

I'd love to see a project exchange. I'm familiar with motor control, logic and things like that so I can take an object take it apart and figure out how to use it. but when it comes to sound, video, and TCP/IP it's a lot harder for me to take a documented object and do some thing with it. not to mention an undocumented object. An applications exchange would be great. The completed projects forum is good but if was a project exchange it would be better organized and hopefully open to all sorts of propeller related apps, not just spin or assembly code.

The Wiki makes for a good index of applications but it would be better to have a Propeller repository for the actual applications. Some people don't have web space, online sites can 'disappear', the best at present is posting as an attachment to the forum but then one has to go searching for that code.

Agree with DGSwaner; should also allow tools, doucumentation and tutorials.
