I need to get an USB to serial adapter to connect to the SX-Key.· I don't want to wait for an order from parallax, and I read in a thread about some adapters that work.· I can't find the thread now, so if anyone knows an adapter that works, pleas let me know.
Its been since christmas, and everytime I have a spare moment I miss something...cry.gif

    Hey Marky-Mark,

Get yourself ready for the sales pitch. Our adapter works with our products and it only costs $14.95. Even with overnight shipping to your destination I bet it is cheaper than anything you will find that works from Best Buy, RadioShack, or elsewhere. The RadioShack adapter has worked in the past - and maybe it still does - our tech support guys know for certain, but it costs $39.95. You could be programming tomorrow with our adapter! Here's the link:

    Marky-Mark,
I agree with Ken. It's not worth the hassle to try to get someone elses adapter to work. The Parallax adapter is inexpensive and you can be sure it will work. Any other adapter might work, but it will always be the first thing suspected if/when things go south.

    Bean

12-25-07 Got SX Lite Kit Plus for Christmas

12-27-07 Bought LED's and other components
12-29-07 Realized that none of my wal-warts work with board
1-2-08 Bought power supply and turned on·board, but realized the A shell sub-D connector on laptop is actually 15 pins and not serial.
1-3-08 Ordered usb-serial adapter from Parallax, continue reading books and dream of making an LED flash.

1-3-08 Decided to use old laptop with a serial sub-d, that barely meets the minimum sk-key requirements.· Got LED to BLINK!!!!!!
