Hi

Just installed the latest Spin editor version 1.05.8
Every time we open it we get the message as per the pdf file attached.
In the toolbar· menu area ..it asks for a disk ??

We can cancel the error and all works fine .. just seems odd that we· get that message all the time.

Running trusty old Windows 2000 doing the same thing on my notebook PC that runs XP..

Any idea fellow proppers ?

This isssue is now solved... thanks to all ..see last posting for fix..

Cheers·· Ron Melbourne OZ.

    Hi, Happy new year Ron.

I'd installed the same version downloaded from Parallax website and I found that "two links", one to the propeller manual, and the another for the demo board schematics, has the shortcuts "bad" after instalation.
I mean ....choose "Start - Programs - Parallax - xxxxx " and check ie. if the manual opens.......if not, correct the shortcuts....and voila !! (I supposed that you downloaded the full archive, propeller + manual + etc.etc.)

    Hope that solution your problems.
    Cheers.

    Hi Alberto.

Same to you Alberto a Happy+ Healthy and a safe new year to you and family.

    Good suggestion..
I tried all the links via your method and 1 does not work (ref 1.2 manual)
The actual editor does open and seems to all load okay .. have not tried as yet to connect
    My PropBus system to it...

So just to explain in better detail .

The actual Propeller tool loads okay.. but with that error message.
I can press the Cancel or the Continue buttons and all seems okay from there on.

Tried re installing the whole lot again and still does excatly the same... even rebooted my PC.

Thnx Alberto for the help anyway.

do you have a flash card reader installed but empty? they seem to be the leading cause of this

I have noticed whenever I unplug my usb port for whatever reason, Proptool starts with the error msgs. Usually after a couple uses the error goes away. I cannot recreate the error unless I unplug the usb prop. Windows XP Pro
I have a flash card installed and empty but haven't noticed any problems when full or empty.

Sorry just noticed I am running v0.98.01

    Hi CJ

Thanks for that suggestion... your right .. an external flash card reader when EMPTY causes that error.
