BASIC Stamp/RS232 to RS485 Converter

Hello

I have build a rov(submarine) and i ned to control my 4 engine, then i most use a
RS232 to RS485 Converter.One in the rov and one at the surface and 100m cabel,but how do this work on a BASIC Stamp? if it work


I need one BASIC Stamp in the rov and one at the surface,then i most connect a RS232 to RS485 Converter in the BASIC Stamp in the rov and one RS232 to RS485 Converter at the surface on BASIC Stamp (100m Cabel between RS485 to RS485)

then i most connect 2 analog joysticks to control my 4 engine.how do this work

My question is will this work on a BASIC Stamp?

And what do i need to this project? I need only to control my 4 engine nothing else, I have thing about to use a RC control but rc dont work under water,so i need cabel.

here is a parts list

4 HB-25 Motor Controller
2 BASIC Stamp (kit)
2 RS232 to RS485 Converter (100m cabel)
1 Parallax Servo Controller (Serial)
2 analog joysticks (4 pots)

is that all i need to my project?

Take a look at Jon Williams' article in the January 2008 issue of Nuts and volts. It uses the sx chip but I'm sure you could convert it if you wanted.
