Propeller Tool and PST cursor hard to see

Older eyes with floaters. Hard to see the cursor when in the edit screen of the tool, and the PST. I have not found a way to make the cursor more visible, I keep trying to move a floater around with the mouse! Any advice on how to modify the cursor in those areas?

You mean the mouse cursor when hovering over a text area?
You can modify that (and all the other mouse cursor types) in Window's mouse settings dialog (just type "mouse" into the start menu and it'll be somewhere in the results) (you can replace it with a .CUR file of your liking. Windows comes with a bunch)

@Dave_Matthews Are you aware of the Windows trick where “pressing the CNTL key makes the cursor do zoomie radar pings”? I use that constantly because I’m a card-carrying member of the trifocal crowd too. :)

Edit: here is how to set it up: https://mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk/windows-10-finding-your-mouse-pointer-0
Edit2: Magnifier is also real handy: https://mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk/windows-10-magnifying-screen
  • Thanks! I increased the size from 1 to 2 and I can see it now....

Thanks for the tips and links!
  • Older eyes with floaters.
I totally relate and empathize. My optometrist told me years ago that, eventually, I would not even notice them. 'Still waiting for that blessed day!

Same here, but only in one eye. I have found that placing the heel of my hands on the eyes and massaging them for about 10 seconds a few times a day has helped quite a bit. After a week there were noticeably fewer floaters, and now I rarely see any.
  • well Guys you are not old enough, yet.

You have to wait until you get adult supervision...

I have trouble finding the mouse cursor in Prop Tool sometimes even without any eye issues.

For SpinEdit, I added a Brightness slider to the tool bar that can make the background colors less dark.
See screenshot where just a bit brighter makes everything better, but keeps the familiar theme.

Maybe this is something we can get in Propeller Tool 2 (or whatever it is going to be called).

@JRoark I have not tried this but you are saying that the windows setting for the cursor will "bleed through" to the prop tool??

    Yes adult supervision agreed upon

I just lost my mouse inside PST too...

But, I was able to change the background color with the "Prefs…" button.
    All better now...
