DB extender for TSL1401-DB line scan sensor

I am trying to use the TSL1401-DB line scan sensor with my Arduino Uno R3. How sensitive is this sensor to wire resistance, could I properly connect this to a breadboard simply by use a freshly prototyped socket header or some other cable that could fit in the socket; and are all the pins on theTSL1401-DB used for sketches written with Arduino. The question is, is the DB expander and the board of education for arduino really mandatory?

  • No special interface cable is necessary. The pins you need to connect are Vdd (+3.3V or +5V), Gnd, CLK (logic-level input), SI (logic-level input), and AO (analog output).
