Here are a couple of photo's of the new revision of PropCade - all features work :)

I expect to have production boards by the end of the month!

Now I just have to figure out the BOM and pricing...
    800 x 600 - 286K
    800 x 600 - 277K

I have received the first production run; I will be testing it this weekend :-)

I expect to have PropCade kits available for sale before Oct.1

(Now I just have to make the BOM, figure out pricing, write a build manual...)

    Bill,

    Excellent.

I was just scanning through this thread again, lots of interesting asides in here I had half forgotten about. Including this statement by you:
Heater will re-target ZiCog and ZOG to VMCOG, so both will run on PropCade.

Which probably means I said I would make a VMCOG version of ZiCog at some point. Looks like I have some work to do:)

    heater,

    Thanks!

And yes, you did say you would port it... I hope you have time to do so, but I'll understand if you don't.

The PropCade production printed circuit boards are 100% functional!!!!!

This is a major milestone for PropCade - I have production boards that are ready to ship, and I will be offering them for sale as soon as I finish the BOM and figure out the prices.

Please note, three of the parts used on the board are not available from Digikey:

    - RCA x 3 connector block for video and L/R audio
    - unshielded RJ45 connector used for RS485 networking
    - uSD socket used on the board

Currently, I am thinking of offering the following PropCade packages:

    - minimal kit (PCB, RCAx3 connector, two RJ45 connectors, uSD socket that fits the board)
    - full kit with 64KB SPI ram (four empty SPI memory expansion sockets available)
    - assembled & tested 64KB full kit (four empty SPI memory expansion sockets available)

Is there any particular configuration you guys would like to see in addition to the above?

The full feature list is in the first post, and there are MANY possible configurations for the board.

I will post pricing as soon as I figure it out.

    I would appreciate your feedback!

    Thank you!

Selling a lot of them would be nice... it would introduce the Prop to a lot of people.

it would introduce the Prop to a lot of people.

Absolutely. This is a common aim. The more people who discover the prop, the more they will tell others. And the more volumes, the better for Parallax and us.

Still looking for that elusive must have device with a prop on board!

Generating the full parts list was ... well ... boring.

While generating it, I ported Boulderdash to PropCade, including making an NES compatibility layer wrapper for my Atari/Sega joystick interface :)

It was really cool to play it on PropCade - the first full retro game running on it!

Currently my joystick interface needs a cog to run the driver (Spin is not fast enough for the MCP23S17) however the PropCade version of VMCOG will also have the joystick driver incorporated in it.

It would be possible to integrate joystick reading into the vblank routine of TV or VGA drivers, or into the keyboard driver.

I used the zip from http://www.propellerpowered.com/propellergaming/

I'll port more games as time permits!

    p.s.

Now back to real work... putting DigiKey part numbers beside every single part on the BOM...

    p.p.s.

Maybe I should port another game while doing that...
